Tomáš Janovic
wurde am 22. Mai 1937 in Bratislava geboren. Er studierte Slowakisch und Geschichte
in Bratislava, nach Abschluss seines Studiums arbeitete er für
das satirisch-humoristische Magazin Roháč. Momentan lebt er in Bratislava und ist als Autor tätig. Zu seinen Werken zählen
satirische Poesie und Prosa, Kinder- und Jugendbücher und Hörspiele.
Darüber hinaus ist Tomáš Janovic auch als Übersetzer tätig. Für
sein literarisches Werk erhielt er bereits zahlreiche Preise,
wie z. B. den Prize of the publishing house Mladé letá (1980)
und den Prize of Haškova Lipnice (festival of humour, 1985).
